General Microscopic Description

Mixed serous and mucinous glands although serous glands predominate.
Tubuloacinar glands
Basal nuclei with basophilic zymogen granules
Secretory cells lie on myoepithelial cells above the basement membrane
Glands drain to intercalated ducts and then to striated ducts
•Examples:
Normal Submaxillary Gland  (Low Power) Normal Submaxillary Gland (Medium Power) Normal Submaxillary Gland (High Power)
