General Gross Description

smooth external surface
firm, tan white interior with interlacing bundles of fibers
very large neoplasms may have cystic spaces
•Examples:
Ovarian Fibrothecoma (External view) Ovarian Fibroma (composite view) Ovarian Fibroma (external view only) Ovarian Fibroma (internal view only) Ovarian Fibrothecoma (cut surface)
General Microscopic Description

bland, spindle cells resembling fibroblasts
some collagen production
occasional lipid laden thecal cells may be seen
•Examples:
Fibroma of Ovary (4X) Fibroma of Ovary (20X) Fibroma of Ovary (40X)
