General Microscopic Description

Epineurium is outer connective tissue surrounding nerve composed of fibroblasts and mast cells.
Perineurial cells, similar to pia-arachnoid cells, envelope individual fascicles in layers of cells with intervening collagen, forming blood-nerve barrier.
Endoneurium contains nerve fibers (myelinated or unmyelinated), Schwann cells, fibroblasts, capillaries and mast cells.
Schwann cell nuclei compose most of the nuclei seen in the endoneurium and are delicate and wavy with pointed ends.
