Concentric Left Ventricular Hypertrophy
Concentric Left Ventricular Hypertrophy

View of superior surfaces of transverse sections with the anterior surfaces facing towards the left.
The thickened left ventricular wall is at least 2X thicker than normal. Right ventricle almost a mere appendage.
Middle and right sections: Note the diffuse endocardial thin grey discoloration in the middle section, and the similar focal changes in the right section. This is sub- endocardial scarring due to, in the absence of coronary atherosclerosis, relative coronary insufficiency due to cardiac hypertrophy alone.
