Rare and associated with ulcerative colitis (usually) and Crohn's disease.
General Gross Description

Small abscesses or pustules which may coalesce.
Hyperplastic folds

General Microscopic Description

Microabscesses which may be intrepithelial or below surface.
Necrosis above lesions may occur.
Inflammatory infiltrate in submucosa

Clinical Correlation

Respond to treatment of underlying GI disease
Relatively resistent to other therapy
? Steroids
