• Firm, tan lobular organ with delicate capsule
• Weighs 7-8 g
•Examples:

General Microscopic Description
• Mixed serous and mucinous glands although serous glands predominate.
• Tubuloacinar glands
• Basal nuclei with basophilic
zymogen granules
• Secretory cells lie on myoepithelial cells above the basement membrane
• Glands drain to intercalated ducts and then to striated ducts
